Dance Mode Privacy Policy

Dance Mode is a local chat app. It connects you to people physically nearby using Bluetooth, without WiFi, without accounts, and without a central server storing your conversations. This policy explains what we do and don't collect, and how any data is used.

We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• Your location (the app uses Bluetooth proximity, not GPS)
• Your messages (they travel directly between nearby devices and never reach our servers — we never see them)
• An account identifier of any kind

Your handle (the random name you are assigned, like "swift leaf") is generated on your device and stored only on your device. We never see it.

We intend to support the app through advertising. We do not currently run ads, but when we do, our advertising partners may collect:

• Your IP address
• Device type and operating system version
• A randomly generated advertising identifier (which you can reset or disable in your device settings)
• General information about the ad shown and whether it was viewed or tapped

When ads are active, we will update this policy and Apple's App Store privacy label to reflect that collection. We will notify users through the app when this change takes effect.

When no internet connection is available, ads may be served from content pre-downloaded to your device while on WiFi. In that case, no data leaves your device to serve the ad.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Our advertising partners operate under their own privacy policies and may be subject to industry self-regulatory programs.

We may collect basic aggregated analytics (app opens, session length, feature usage counts) to understand how the product is working. If and when we do, this data will not be linked to any individual, and we will update this policy accordingly.

The app scans for and connects to nearby Bluetooth devices running the same app. Device identifiers encountered during scanning are used only to establish the local mesh and are held in memory for the duration of your session. They are not stored to disk, not transmitted to our servers, and not shared with any third party.

Dance Mode is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

• Advertising identifier:You can reset or limit ad tracking in your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads).
• Delete app data: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data (your handle, seen-onboarding flag, any cached ads) from your device.

Because we do not collect messages or identifiable user data on our servers, there is nothing to retain or delete on our end beyond aggregated analytics, which we hold for up to 24 months.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify users through the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
